About Us

One of the owners Azman Dayakli has been in the restaurant business for 15 years, and has spent many of them on Manhattan’s West Side. He made his mark in Tribeca as one of the original owners of the acclaimed Turks & Frogs, and then went on to open the Drunken Horse in 2010. The Tenth Avenue bar quickly became a hit with its Chelsea neighbors thanks to its relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and impressive wine list. With Wine Escape, Azman has brought the same hospitality to Hell’s Kitchen.

The Place

Wine Escape is a cozy, elegant bar whose hardwood floors, brick walls, and rustic fixtures are designed to make its patrons feel immediately at home. Located in a former art gallery, its intimate setting provides serene contrast the city’s relentless hustle.

The Food

We serve a wide selection of cheese, charcuterie and tapas with an emphasis on traditional Mediterranean specialties like hummus, falafel, beef croquets, and our signature zucchini pancakes. Our goat, sheep, and cow’s milk cheeses are both foreign and domestic, and come to us from places as ranging from California to Bulgaria. In addition to using the highest quality ingredients, we try to use as much organic products as possible.

The Wine

We serve a diverse menu of wine, beer, and port that come from countries around the world. Available by both bottle and glass, our wines have been chosen to complement our food; regardless of your selection, they all pair well with good times.
